CRISM Therapeutics Corporation
(‘CRISM’, ‘CRISM Therapeutics’ or the ‘Company’)
Appointment of Non-executive Chair
CRISM Therapeutics Corporation (AIM: CRTX), a UK clinical-stage drug delivery company focused on the localised and sustained delivery of chemotherapy drugs, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Charles Spicer as Non-Executive Chair with effect from 1 October 2026. Following Dr Spicer’s appointment Andrew Webb will step down as Interim Executive Chairman and resume his role as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer.
Charles brings over 25 years of senior executive, non-executive, and corporate finance experience within the medtech, life science, and healthcare investment sectors. His extensive track record in scaling AIM-quoted healthcare companies and executing healthcare capital markets and commercial transactions is directly relevant to CRISM as it advances its lead candidate, irinotecan-ChemoSeed®, in its registration-grade Phase 2 clinical trial in glioblastoma.
Charles currently also serves as Non-Executive Chair of EMV Capital plc (AIM: EMVC), a venture capital company specialising in deep tech and life sciences, as well as Chair of Aethox Limited, a Kings College London biopharmaceutical spin-out, and medtech innovator Cryogenx Limited.
Charles previously served for eight years as Non-Executive Chair of Creo Medical Group plc (AIM: CREO), overseeing its transformation from an early-stage UK company through to its IPO on AIM, scale-up, and global commercial expansion. He also served for fourteen years as a Panel Chair for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (‘NIHR’) Invention for Innovation (‘i4i’) product development awards. Prior to that, he served as Chief Executive of MDY Healthcare plc, a strategic med tech investor, following a distinguished corporate finance career as Head of Healthcare Corporate Finance at both Numis Securities and Nomura International.
Andrew Webb, Interim Executive Chairman of CRISM Therapeutics, commented:
"We are delighted to welcome Charles to the Board of CRISM as Non-Executive Chair. Charles joins us as patient recruitment is underway for our Phase 2 clinical trial in glioblastoma and our pipeline in prostate cancer is progressing well. His track record in guiding AIM-quoted healthcare companies through clinical scale-up, capital markets execution and commercial growth will be invaluable to CRISM. His deep expertise will position us well as we focus on improving the lives of patients and building long-term shareholder value."
Charles Spicer, incoming Non-Executive Chair of CRISM Therapeutics, commented:
"CRISM’s ChemoSeed technology represents a highly innovative approach to solving one of oncology’s most persistent challenges, delivering sustained, localised chemotherapy directly to solid tumours while limiting systemic toxicity. Having followed the Company’s progress, I am impressed by the strength of the pre-clinical and clinical data generated to date, the recent regulatory milestones achieved in both the UK and US, and the team’s disciplined execution. I look forward to working closely with the Board to support the Company as we advance through Phase 2 clinical evaluation and look to maximise the commercial potential of the ChemoSeed platform."

About CRISM Therapeutics Corporation
CRISM Therapeutics Corporation has developed an innovative drug delivery technology to improve the clinical performance of cancer treatments for solid tumours through the local delivery of chemotherapy drugs.
ChemoSeed, CRISM's lead product, can be implanted directly into the tumour or the resection margin following the removal of a tumour. This directs that therapeutic concentrations of chemotherapy drugs reach the deep-seated tumour tissue or cover the entire resection margin. In the case of treating glioblastoma, ChemoSeeds can be implanted during surgery thereby bypassing the blood brain barrier, which prevents other treatments from being able to reach the tumour and be effective.
CRISM has commenced recruitment at the Company’s first clinical site for its registration-grade Phase 2 clinical trial of irinotecan-ChemoSeed in patients with surgically resectable glioblastoma.
