                               Board Appointments



CPL Resources plc ('CPL' or the 'Company') is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr Breffni Byrne and Mr. Oliver Tattan as non-executive directors
of the Company (the 'Directors').



Mr Byrne (age 61) is chairman of NCB Stockbrokers and serves as a director of
Irish Life and Permanent plc, Coillte Teoranta, Hikma Pharmaceutical plc,
Tedcastle Holding ltd and a number of other companies. A chartered accountant,
he was formerly a Senior Partner of the Audit and Business Advisory practice of
Arthur Andersen in Ireland.



Mr Tattan (age 43) is the founder and CEO of Vivas Insurance Ltd. Oliver
previously held the role of chief executive at VHI Healthcare and was co-founder
of Daon.



Commenting on the appointment, John Hennessy, Chairman of CPL Resources plc,
said: 'We are delighted to welcome both Oliver and Breffni to our Board.  They
bring a wealth of business experience and we are confident they will make a
significant contribution.'
