Cizzle presents at SYNLAB Innovation Symposium

Summary by AI BETAClose X

Cizzle Biotechnology Holdings PLC announced its participation in the SYNLAB 12th Innovation Academy Symposium on November 5, 2026, where it will co-present technical evaluation studies of its CIZ1B biomarker test. The company highlighted improvements to the CIZ1B test, which accurately and reproducibly measures the lung cancer biomarker using scalable reagents, as detailed in a peer-reviewed publication in 'The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine'. This progress, supported by a research agreement with the University of York, aims to establish a foundation for a future high-throughput test kit for early lung cancer detection.

Cizzle Biotechnology presents at SYNLAB 12th Innovation Academy Symposium

Cizzle Biotechnology, the UK based diagnostics developer of early cancer tests, is pleased to highlight further industry engagement and the Company’s participation at a leading NHS partner’s symposium

Highlights

  • Cizzle Biotechnology is participating in the SYNLAB 12th Innovation Academy Symposium on 5 November 2026
  • Co-presentation at the symposium of technical evaluation studies of the Company’s CIZ1B biomarker test underway at the Christie Pathology Partnership, Manchester
  • Communication of test improvements, as reported in peer-reviewed publication ‘The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine’

Commenting, Dawn Coverley, Chief Scientific Officer of Cizzle Biotechnology, said

“I am delighted that Cizzle has been invited to present its latest improvements to the CIZ1B test to such a knowledgeable audience. The progress we have made this year has enabled precise and reproducible measurement of the CIZ1B lung cancer biomarker, using scalable reagents that will be the foundation of a future high-throughput test kit.”

The Company maintains a research and collaboration agreement with the University of York which supports the development of CIZ1B biomarker test improvements, and independent validation as a clinical assay for early-stage lung cancer.

Technical progress arising from the collaboration was recently reported in ‘A Molecular Tool Set for Measurement of Lung Cancer-Associated Protein Biomarker CIZ1B-FibA in Human Plasma’ Susanna F Rose, Joanna F Pearson, Lewis Byrom, Justin F X Ainscough, Dawn Coverley The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine. The paper, which may be accessed via: https://doi.org/10.1093/jalm/jfag124, evidences accuracy and reproducibility standards for the CIZ1B biomarker test that meet those required by major healthcare service providers.

About Cizzle Biotechnology

The CIZ1B biomarker is a naturally occurring variant of the cell nuclear protein CIZ1, which is linked with the preservation of epigenetic integrity. CIZ1B is highly associated with the presence of early-stage lung cancer and can be measured in small quantities of blood. The Company has developed CIZ1B into a non-invasive, cost-effective blood test to help in the early detection of lung cancer. In June 2026, the test was successfully accredited for use in the United States under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) process, providing a regulated laboratory route to market that enables licensed US healthcare providers to order the test.

Cizzle has entered into commercial royalty-bearing licensing arrangements covering North America and the Caribbean and is working with commercial partners and centres of excellence in cancer care to support the adoption of its proprietary diagnostic technologies in the UK and elsewhere.

Cizzle was admitted to the Official List and Main Market of the London Stock Exchange in May 2021.
