On 27 October 2000, 77,000 BPT ordinary shares of 5p each were allocated to Mr
Timothy N Watts, a director of the Company, upon the exercise of an option at
a subscription price of 100p per share. Following this transaction Mr Watts is
interested in 97,581 ordinary shares, representing 0.07 per cent of the
Company's issued ordinary share capital.
