Chief Commercial Officer

Avation PLC (LSE: AVAP, Avation or "the Company"), the commercial passenger aircraft leasing company announces that Mr Tony Romano has been appointed as Chief Commercial Officer.

Mr Romano joined Avation in August 2026 and will lead and mentor the Company's global airline marketing team.

Mr Romano brings more than 30 years of international aviation experience spanning aircraft sales, leasing, airline marketing, commercial strategy and transaction execution. His career includes senior commercial roles at Nordic Aviation Capital, Airbus America and Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, where he led complex aircraft campaigns, developed long-standing relationships with airlines, lessors, and OEMs worldwide.

Most recently, Mr Romano served as Vice President, Global Marketing, Americas at Nordic Aviation Capital, where he led airline marketing and commercial activities across North America. Working closely with executive leadership, asset management, legal, technical, contracts and finance teams, he originated, structured and executed aircraft lease transactions. 

Prior to that, Mr Romano was Director of Sales, North America at Airbus America, where he led multidisciplinary account teams across sales, marketing and customer support. His notable achievements included playing a leading commercial role in Airbus' successful Delta Air Lines Airbus A220 campaign for 75 firm aircraft plus 50 options and negotiating the Breeze and JetBlue memorandum of understanding covering 170 Airbus A220 aircraft.

Earlier in his career, Mr Romano held senior sales roles at Bombardier Commercial Aircraft across Asia-Pacific and the Americas, where he secured Bombardier's first commercial aircraft order in South Korea and helped expand the manufacturer's commercial aircraft presence across North America and the Asia-Pacific region.

Avation has an existing orderbook of ATR72-600 aircraft available for placement through to 2034. The Board considers Mr Romano's extensive industry relationships, commercial judgement and extensive experience in aircraft marketing and transaction execution position him well to support the placement of these aircraft, while also leading lease extensions, remarketing and transitions across the wider Avation fleet.
