Appointment of a new director

Amigo Resources PLC (LSE: AMGO), a company focused on gold and rare earth mining opportunities in Africa, announces the appointment of Peter Bird to the Board as a non-executive director. Peter is a corporate finance and investment banking professional with extensive experience in mining, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions across Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and North America. There is further information on Peter in the Appendix.

Following the appointment of Peter, the total number of Directors on Amigo's Board will consist of four independent Non-Executive Directors and two Executive Directors.

Peter Bird is an experienced corporate finance professional, mining executive and entrepreneur, having carried senior level roles in investment banking and advisory firms, public mining companies and investment funds. Over his career, he has advised C-suite executives, institutional investors, and family offices on high-impact deals, cross-border acquisitions, and complex restructurings globally. Peter has been a founding director of multiple junior mining exploration and development companies, where he has held both public and private board positions and been instrumental to orchestrating the capital market pathways. Peter was a non-executive director of Basin Energy Ltd, a company listed on the Australian ASX from 23 November 2021 to 23 August 2024.

As a capital markets executive, Peter has 10 years' experience in the industry where he has spearheaded strategic growth into new financial markets, most recently serving as the Founding New York Director for Hall Chadwick, where he established their first US office. He also served as Head of Due Diligence at Obsidian Global Partners, managing structured financing and direct equity deployments for a direct family office fund.

As an entrepreneur, Peter is the Co-Founder of TheMineXchange, the world's largest marketplace for transactable mining assets, where he has been instrumental in building the platform into the largest mining asset marketplace globally. He holds an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business, a Bachelor of Science from Murdoch University and maintains a well-established global network across tier-one investment banks, resource companies, and institutional capital providers.
