New 25-Year Solar Power Purchase Agreement Signed with Cambridge City Football Club
Active Energy Group Plc is pleased to announce that it has entered into a new 25-year Power Purchase Agreement ("PPA") worth £0.83 million with Cambridge City Football Club ("CCFC"), located at Station Row, Cambridge.
Under the terms of the agreement, AEG will install and operate a rooftop solar generation system at CCFC's facilities, delivering approximately 151,918 kilowatt-hours per annum of clean, renewable electricity at a fixed discounted rate. This long-term arrangement provides CCFC with cost-efficient energy while supporting its sustainability objectives, and further strengthens AEG's portfolio of contracted behind-the-meter solar assets.
This agreement is fully aligned with AEG's rooftop solar strategy, focused on securing long-duration, revenue-generating PPAs with strong community and commercial partners. The Company remains in advanced discussions on a number of additional sites and anticipates further signings in the near term.
Bryan Glendenning, Solar & BESS Advisor at Active Energy Group, commented: "This latest agreement marks another important milestone in the expansion of our rooftop solar programme. Partnering with community-based organisations such as Cambridge City FC demonstrates the broad reach and effectiveness of our model. We are pleased to deliver long-term savings and clean energy while building a pipeline of high-quality, contracted assets."
Alice Dewey, General Manager of Cambridge City Football Club, added: "We are delighted to be working with Active Energy Group on this significant sustainability initiative for our Club. The solar installation will reduce our energy costs and carbon footprint, supporting both our operational resilience and our commitment to the community. It's a positive step forward for the future of Cambridge City FC."
Further updates will be provided as appropriate.
