Result of General Meeting

In connection with the proposals for a change of name and investment policy and a combination of the assets of Aberdeen Emerging Markets Investment Company Limited (the "Company") with Aberdeen New Thai Investment Trust PLC ("ANW") by means of a scheme of reconstruction of ANW, the Company is pleased to announce that the resolutions, which were put forward at the General Meeting held earlier today, have been approved by Shareholders.
