Stockholm — Medivir AB (Nasdaq Stockholm: MVIR), a pharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative treatments in areas of high unmet medical need, announces the total number of shares and votes after the completion of the directed share issue as resolved by the board of directors on 17 June 2026 and approved by the general meeting on 20 July 2026.
The directed share issue was oversubscribed and included both new and existing investors, including Cicero Fonder, Storebrand Sverige Plus and Storebrand Sverige Småbolag Plus as well as Carl Bennet AB, Hallberg Management AB, LINC AB, and Nordea Småbolagsfond Norden. The share issue primarily intends to finance a new indication for the drug candidate MIV-711: Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease, a rare condition in which the femoral head degenerates in children and for which there is currently no approved drug treatment. Medivir believes MIV-711 has the potential to create significant value in this indication, both for affected patients and for its shareholders.
As of 31 July 2026, the last trading day of the month, the total number of shares in Medivir amounts to 626,487,237, of which 624,037,074 are ordinary shares and 2,450,163 are class C shares. The total number of votes amounts to 624,282,090.3. Each ordinary share carries one (1) vote and each class C share carries one-tenth (1/10) of a vote.
