APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Cornish Metals plc (AIM: TIN) (“Cornish Metals” or the “Company”), a mineral exploration and development company focused on advancing its wholly owned and permitted South Crofty tin project (“South Crofty”) in Cornwall, United Kingdom, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Quinn as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 22 July 2026.

Andrew Quinn is a chartered engineer and former investment banking managing director with over 50 years’ experience across the global mining, metals and natural resources sector. He is a recognised industry leader in gold and precious metals governance, and brings extensive board, capital markets, M&A and responsible sourcing experience across companies listed in London and internationally.

Mr Quinn currently serves as Non-Executive Chairman of Alkane Resources Ltd, an ASX-listed gold producer with operations in Australia and Sweden. He has previously served as a Non-Executive Director of Barrick Mining Corporation, one of the world’s largest gold and copper producers, and of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), where he chaired the Remuneration Committee. Earlier in his career he was Senior Independent Director of FTSE 100-listed Randgold Resources, and held senior mining investment banking roles, lastly as head of Mining Investment Banking for Europe and Africa at CIBC World Markets for 15 years prior to his retirement, advising on a number of major global mining transactions. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mineral Exploitation (Mining Engineering) from Cardiff University, is a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining, and is a registered Chartered Engineer.

In addition to being appointed to the Board as an independent Non-Executive Director, Mr Quinn will also be joining the Audit Committee with immediate effect. The appointment further strengthens the Board as Cornish Metals continues to advance the South Crofty tin project towards production.

ABOUT CORNISH METALS

Cornish Metals is a mineral exploration and development company that is advancing the South Crofty critical mineral project towards production. South Crofty:

  • is a historical underground tin mine located in Cornwall, United Kingdom and benefits from existing mine infrastructure including multiple shafts that can be used for future operations;
  • is the highest grade known tin Mineral Resource not in production with significant near-mine and regional Mineral Resource potential;
  • is permitted to commence underground mining (valid to 2071), construct a new processing facility and for all necessary site infrastructure;
  • is expected to produce approximately 4,700 tonnes of tin-in-concentrate annually in the first five years of full production at lowest-quartile all-in sustaining costs over an initial 14-year mine life;

  • benefits from strong local community, regional and national government support with a growing team of skilled people, local to Cornwall, and could generate over 300 direct jobs;
  • is an opportunity for a secure domestic supply of tin in the UK supporting a low carbon economy.
