Scenic Acadia Tours welcomes the 2026 season with personalized private sightseeing experiences across Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island. Based on Mount Desert Island, the locally owned company is operated by Pete Mancuso, an experienced guide known for sharing Acadia’s natural wonders and a lifelong passion for travel and culture.
Scenic Acadia Tours features a tailored selection of Acadia’s most iconic sights. Guests will explore popular destinations like Cadillac Mountain’s summit, witness the crashing waves at Thunder Hole, and visit the Bass Harbor Lighthouse, all the while coming across hidden gems around Bar Harbor.
Each tour is conducted in a 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid, a premium SUV-style minivan that comfortably accommodates up to seven guests. The vehicle is outfitted with dual sunroofs to enjoy Acadia’s stunning views, panoramic windows, a built-in intercom, and an interior camera feed, assuring both safety and effortless communication throughout the journey.
Scenic Acadia Tours offers a comfortable ride for travelers desiring a memorable experience in one of America’s most cherished national parks. Guests can enjoy premium snacks and chilled bottled water while Pete relates stories of Acadia’s distinctive pink granite, signature conifers, and rich coastal heritage. Along the journey, guests may encounter white-tailed deer, red foxes, beavers, shorebirds, harbor seals, iconic loons, or even a bald eagle, all while immersed in the sights and sounds of Acadia’s offerings.
Pete’s guest-centric philosophy is what sets Scenic Acadia Tours apart. After five seasons as an independent guide, Pete brings his local knowledge, global experience, and loyalty to individualized experiences to his own venture. A lifelong explorer himself, Pete understands that travelers appreciate a tour designed for their pace and interests. His dedication to exceptional service has earned him hundreds of five-star reviews on TripAdvisor and Google.
“After years of traveling, I returned home to Maine, where my lifelong love of exploration began,” said Pete. “As a child, my family spent every August in Downeast and Acadia, exploring everywhere from Kittery to Campobello. Today, I’m honored to continue introducing visitors to the place that inspired my passion for nature and adventure. Each tour is shaped by the warm hospitality I’ve experienced across the world and by Acadia’s rich history—from the Wabanaki people to the early Hudson River School artists and the rusticators who helped attract the region’s first tourists. There’s something magical in Acadia’s salty air that makes it easy for visitors to fall in love with this place — it’s hard not to!”
With Acadia National Park among the top 10 most-visited U.S. national parks, recording a record-breaking 4,079,318 visits in 2025, Acadia’s popularity makes private tours an ideal way to see its wonders. Tours are offered in full or half-day excursions, customized to the traveler’s preferences for their time in Acadia.
