Contango Holdings Plc is a UK natural resource development company with operations such as the Garalo-Ntiela Project and the Muchesu Coal Project in Mali. The combined Garalo-Ntiela Project occupies approximately 161.5 square kilometers (km2), in the Sikasso region of southern Mali, 200 kilometers (km) south-east of the capital Bamako and close to the Guinea border.

The Muchesu Coal Mine covers approximately 19,236 hectares of the highly prospective Karroo Mid Zambezi coal basin, located in the established Hwange mining district in north-western Zimbabwe. Contango has a 70% interest in the Muchesu Project (Muchesu) in Zimbabwe, previously known as the Lubu Coal Project, with the remaining 30% held by supportive local partners. It is focused on mining from Block B2, where extensive work has also been undertaken to define the specific properties of the coal.
