XTRACT ENERGY PLC ('the Company')

Notification of significant holding

The Company was notified on 7 March 2007 that following the purchase of
18,500,000 shares in the Company, Cambrian Mining Plc was interested (together
with its wholly owned subsidiary Cambrian Investment Holdings Ltd) in a total of
311,442,500 Ordinary Shares in the Company. This combined interest represents
55.88% of the current issued capital of the Company.
