eXpansys in partnership to sell world's first flying video game

eXpansys, the global online consumer electronics retailer, has extended its decade-long relationship with Parrot, a global leader in wireless devices for mobile phones, by retailing Parrot's revolutionary AR.Drone Quadricopter - the world's first flying video game controlled remotely by iPhone, iPad and iPod touch handheld devices.

eXpansys has partnered with Parrot to provide eXpansys' significant online retail experience, creating and managing an international online retail network in record time and providing the full back-end fulfilment capabilities to retail the Parrot AR.Drone around the globe including in the UK, USA, France, Germany and Hong Kong, among other territories.

The high technology device, which looks like a futuristic helicopter, is controlled in wi-fi by the pilot's iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and has captured the attention of the international technology and gaming communities. The two on-board cameras allow the pilot to manoeuvre the Quadricopter, with its four propellers, through a live cockpit view that appears on the pilot's iPhone, iPad or IPod touch meaning the Quadricopter does not need to be in sight of the pilot. Supplied with two different hulls, the Parrot AR.Drone is designed for flying indoor and outdoor.

Anthony Catterson, Chief Executive of eXpansys, commented,

"This hugely innovative and exciting device is taking the technology and gaming world by storm, as evidenced by the thousands of units that we have already sold during the initial launch phase. This is an excellent illustration of eXpansys' ability to rapidly deliver a Partner a worldwide retail network and fulfilment solution to capitalise on the anticipated popularity of a product without delay."
