                        Pre-Close Period Trading Update

XP, one of the world's leading providers of power supply solutions to the
mid-tier of the electronics industry, is today issuing an update on trading for
the financial year ending 31 December 2004.

During the second half of the year trading has remained in line with market
expectations despite the translation effects of further weakening of the US
dollar versus Sterling. Our mix of bookings and revenues has continued to show
steady improvement in relation to the proportion of XP branded product. This
should allow the Group to continue the trend in gross margin improvement into
2005.

XP expect to release preliminary earnings for the year ending 31 December 2004
on Tuesday, 1 February 2005.
