           XAAR ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


Xaar plc ('Xaar'), the Cambridge-based ink jet printing technology company,
today announced the appointment of Mr John Scott as a non-executive director.


Mr Scott, aged 48, is an executive director of Lazard Brothers & Co., Limited.
He joined Lazard in 1981 and has been a director of the company since 1988,
having worked in Lazard's London and Tokyo offices during that period. He has
considerable experience from complex advisory assignments of financial
structuring and knowledge of international financial markets. Mr Scott is a
graduate of Magdalene College, Cambridge and holds an MBA from INSEAD, France.


 Mr Scott is also a director of Dunedin Income Growth Investment Trust PLC.
There are no other details requiring disclosure in respect of paragraph 16.4
of the Listing Rules for Mr Scott.
