OgilvyOne Worldwide Buys Dutch Marketing Agency

WPP Group PLC 23 December 1999 WPP GROUP PLC ('WPP') OGILVYONE WORLDWIDE ACQUIRES DUTCH PROMOTION AND EVENT MARKETING AGENCY, OFFICE WPP announces that its wholly-owned operating company, OgilvyOne Worldwide, has acquired 80% of the equity of The Office Advertising Group B.V. ('Office'), a Dutch promotion and event marketing agency, and has entered into options to acquire the remainder of the equity. Office, which is based in Amsterdam works with clients such as Unilever, Cono Benelux, Dutchtone, Lever Fabergi, NCM and Vrumona. In 1998 Office won Best European Promotion and a Silver DMSA award. Office employs 25 people and had revenues of NLG 4,550,000 in 1998 and net assets of NLG 750,000 as at 31 December 1998. The acquisition of Office further implements WPP's strategy of building its specialist communications capabilities and further develops OgilvyOne Worldwide's 3600 brand stewardship.
