WPP Group PLC 24 August 2001 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 24 August 2001 WPP GROUP PLC ('WPP') Ogilvy acquires interest in Finnish communications group, Taivas WPP announces that its wholly-owned operating company, Ogilvy, has merged Ogilvy Finland with Taivas, a leading Finnish communications group and acquired 33% of the equity of Taivas Maan Paalla Oy ('Taivas). Based in Helsinki, Taivas's clients include Elisa Communication, Radiolinja, Atria and Fazer. Taivas employs 100 people and had revenues of FIM 64m in 2000 and net assets of FIM 33.3m as at 31 December 2000. The acquisition and merger reinforces Ogilvy's Nordic offer, enhancing its ability to service clients in the Nordic region by linking with one of the leading local communications groups in Finland.
