WWP GROUP PLC 17 August 1999 WPP Group's OgilvyOne Worldwide Acquires DataSearch OgilvyOne Worldwide, the global one-to-one communications network of WPP Group plc today announced that it has acquired 100 percent of DataSearch, a consulting firm specialising in database marketing project development, data treatment, data audit and merge/purge. Key clients of DataSearch include American Express, Reader's Digest, Ediatora Abril, TV Skyshop Ltd, and Boehringer Ingelheim. Its staff of 22 consultants will join the OgilvyOne Sao Paulo office. DataSearch had revenues of R$1.8 million for the year ended 31 December 1998 and net assets of R$20,000 at that date. Antonio Carlos Q. Carletto, founder of DataSearch and Ogilvy veteran, said: 'Ogilvy was the first agency to establish a direct marketing operation in Brazil. I should know, I was there, 15 years ago.'
