Worthington Group plc has received notification by a letter dated 26 May 2006
from Richard A J Hoy that he is now the beneficial owner of 600,000 ordinary
shares of 10p each in the Company, representing approximately 5.10% of the
Company's total issued share capital.  This follows two purchases of 40,000
shares, the last of which was on 26 May 2006.
