                       General Meeting on 3 January 2008



Witan Investment Trust plc announces that, at the General Meeting held today,
the resolution proposed was duly passed.  The resolution was a special
resolution that the Company be generally authorised to make market purchases of
its own shares up to a maximum of 14.99% of the ordinary shares in issue.
Accordingly, the Company is authorised to buy-back for cancellation up to
33,473,494 of its own shares.

set out in the Circular dated 4 December 2007, copies of which are available for
viewing at the Document Viewing Facility of the Financial Services Authority.
