                            Resignation of Director


Witan Investment Trust plc hereby gives notification that Ms J C Platt will
resign from the Board with effect from 31 August 2006.

Jane Platt has been appointed by the Chancellor of the Exchequer as the new
Chief Executive of National Savings and Investments (NS&I).  She will take up
this position on 4 September 2006 and is required before doing so to conclude
her directorship of Witan, in order to avoid any perception of a conflict of
interests.
