The Co-op Renews Food Logistics Contract

 

Wincanton plc, a leading provider of supply chain solutions in the UK and Ireland, is pleased to announce that it has renewed its distribution contract with the Co-op.

The Co-op has signed another five year agreement with Wincanton which will service the Co-op's Logistics depots; Lea Green in Merseyside and Cardinal in Cambridgeshire.  Wincanton will utilise around 700 staff and a fleet of over 500 vehicles to support the challenging demands of the grocery marketplace, making c.130,000 journeys per annum to up to 1,000 Co-op stores nationwide.

The Co-op has been a long-standing client of Wincanton for over 25 years and, as part of this renewed relationship, Wincanton will seek to achieve further efficiencies and continuous improvement benefits across its logistics operations.
