Whitbread PLC 17 June 2003 17th June 2003 Whitbread PLC - AGM trading statement Whitbread PLC reported to today's annual general meeting that trading for the 14 weeks to June 7th had been encouraging. Like-for-like sales growth for the 14 weeks to June 7, 2003 Marriott (2.4%) Travel Inn 3.6% Brewers Fayre 3.4% Beefeater 4.5% David Lloyd Leisure * 6.3% * 13 weeks David Thomas, Chief Executive, said: 'All our brands continue to perform well against their markets with Beefeater and David Lloyd Leisure showing particularly good like-for-like sales growth. 'The sluggish London market affected both our hotel brands but stronger provincial trading enabled Marriott to out-perform the four-star market. Outside the London properties, Travel Inn also performed well.
