                    Sale of David Lloyd Leisure - Completion

Whitbread PLC ('Whitbread') is pleased to announce that it has completed the
sale of David Lloyd Leisure to Versailles Bidco Limited, a company owned by
London & Regional Group Holdings Limited and Bank of Scotland Corporate, for an
aggregate consideration of £925 million on a debt free, cash free basis.
