Proposed disposal of 50% interest in Pizza Hut U.K. Limited to Yum! Restaurant
Holdings

Following the announcement on 31 July 2006 that Whitbread Group PLC has entered
into a conditional agreement to sell its 50% shareholding in Pizza Hut U.K.
Limited to Yum! Restaurant Holdings, a circular has today been posted to
shareholders convening an extraordinary general meeting for 4 September 2006 to
approve the proposed sale. Two copies of this circular have been submitted to
The Financial Services Authority and will be available for inspection at the
Document Viewing Facility which is situated at:
