Whitbread plc

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority for the listing of 27
ordinary shares of 68 32/51 pence each in the Company to the Official List and
to the London Stock Exchange for these shares to be admitted to trading.

These shares will be issued to effect the share capital consolidation as part of
the capital reorganisation described in the circular to shareholders, dated 24
November 2006, concerning the proposed return of cash to shareholders via a C
share scheme.

The 27 ordinary shares will rank parri passu with the existing shares in issue.
