                                 Board Change



JD Wetherspoon plc ('the Company') announces that Mark Davies has relinquished
his executive responsibilities and will shortly be leaving the Board.  Nathan
Wall, currently Head of Marketing, will take on Mr Davies' responsibilities.
There is no present intention to replace Mr Davies on the Board of JD
Wetherspoon.


Tim Martin, Chairman of JD Wetherspoon, comments:


'Mark joined JD Wetherspoon in 1991, became Director of Retail in 1996 and was
appointed to the Board as Operations Director in 1997.  The Board would like
to thank Mark for the significant contribution he has made over his ten years
with the Company and we wish him well for the future'.
