Announcement of transaction in ordinary shares by a Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility

On Friday 22 January 2010, Helena Geoghegan, wife of Martin Geoghegan who is a 
PDMR at JD Wetherspoon plc sold 8,000 of the company's ordinary shares at a price of 454.0p per share. 

Following the above transaction, Mrs Geoghegan now holds an interest of 461 ordinary shares in the Company.
