J D Wetherspoon plc has today been advised that following the
novation of funds from Norwich Union Investment Management
Limited to Morley Fund Management Limited (both wholly owned
subsidiaries of CGNU plc), Morley Fund Management Limited is
now interested in 17,029,231 ordinary shares in the Company
representing 8.09% of J D Wetherspoon's issued ordinary share
capital.

The shares are held as follows:
