J D Wetherspoon plc announces that Ms Rosalyn Schofield, a
director, has today exercised the following options to
subscribe for ordinary shares:

50,000                      78.4p
25,000                      92.4p

Following this exercise Ms Schofield has then sold 60,000
ordinary shares in the company at 395.5p per share.

This brings her total shareholding up to 105,895 ordinary
shares.
