JD Wetherspoon plc have today been advised that on 2nd October 2003 Mr Brian
Jervis a Non Executive Director, sold 2,500 JD Wetherspoon shares at a price of
240p per share and then Mr Brian Jervis purchased 2,500 shares at a price of
242p per share.

These shares will be placed in a Natwest ISA Account.

Following this transaction Mr Jervis interest in 34,549 shares remains
unchanged.
