Mrs Suzanne Baker, Commercial Director, of JD Wetherspoon plc, today exercised
50,000 options to subscribe to ordinary 2p shares at 127.2p per share. Mrs Baker
immediately sold 11,800 of the company's ordinary shares at a price of 306.25p
per share on 16th November 2005.


Mrs Baker is retaining 38,200 shares from exercise, taking her interest in the
company to 38,377.
