Announcement of transaction in ordinary shares by a Director/PDMR

The Company was informed today that on 5 December 2012 Paul Hine, a PDMR of JD Wetherspoon plc, sold 1,093 of the company's ordinary shares at a price of 543.875p per share.

Following the sale Mr Hine holds 213 ordinary shares in the Company.
