The Company announces that Tim Martin, Chairman of JD Wetherspoon plc, purchased
315,000 ordinary shares in the Company at 310.703p per share on 9 January 2008.

Following this transaction, Mr Martin now holds an interest in 32,884,934
ordinary shares in the Company, representing approximately 23.23% of the
Company's issued share capital.
