JD Wetherspoon announces that an application has been made to the London Stock
Exchange and UK Listing Authority for the admission to the Official List of a
block listing of 2,500,000 ordinary shares of 2p each. These shares, which rank
pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in issue, will be allotted from
time to time in accordance with the exercise of options under the following
schemes -


400,000 JD Wetherspoon Executive share option plan

100,000 JD Wetherspoon All Employee share option plan

1,500,000 JD Wetherspoon 1998 share option scheme

500,000 JD Wetherspoon 2001 Approved share option plan
