JD Wetherspoon plc announces the allotment of 15,996 Ordinary shares of 2p each.
These shares, which rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in issue
have been allotted to JD Wetherspoon Quest Limited as trustee of the JD
Wetherspoon plc Qualifying Employee Share Ownership Trust.



Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange and UK Listing Authority
for the admission to the Official List of these shares and listing is expected
to become effective on 2 March 2004.
