                   Restatement of 2004 Annual Results to IFRS

The Weir Group PLC will be reporting its restated financial results for the year
ended 31 December, 2004 under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
to the London Stock Exchange on Friday 1 July, 2005 at 0700 a.m.

Finance Director Chris Rickard and Chief Executive Mark Selway will host a
presentation of the restated results via a conference call on 1 July 2005 at
1030 a.m. The slides for the conference call will be available for download from
www.weir.co.uk at 0700 a.m on Friday 1 July 2005.

No new information will be given on current trading. The interim results
announcement for The Weir Group PLC is scheduled for Thursday 18 August, 2005.
