The Weir Group PLC announces that one of its directors, Alan Wallace Fernie
Mitchelson, has today exercised options granted on 27 March 2000 for 43,750
ordinary shares of 12.5p each in the Company at an exercise price of 197.5p per
share. Of that number, 38,429 Shares were sold at 295.25p part to repay the loan
due to purchase the shares under the option, part to paying the tax due on the
option and also to realise £9,602.33 to purchase shares through the Company's
new Long-Term Incentive Plan. The remaining 5,321 shares were transferred to his
wife, Anne Vass Mitchelson.
