Mr Markus Pietikäinen (MSc, Economics) (34) has been appointed Vice
President, Group Treasury and Financial Services as from 1 January
2010. Effective from the same date, the Group Treasury and Wärtsilä
Development & Financial Services (WDFS) will operatively merge to
achieve synergies in financial operations and services. Mr
Pietikäinen will report to Raimo Lind, Executive Vice President &
CFO.
The current Vice President, Group Treasury, Heikki Horstia will, in
line with his employment contract, retire after 30 years of service
with the company at the end of February 2010.
Mr Pietikäinen has experience both in financing and in capital
markets. He started his professional career at the investment banking
division of J.P. Morgan, in London, UK where his areas of
responsibility were related to equity markets and corporate advisory.
He joined Wärtsilä in 2005 as Group Controller and was mainly
involved in strategic projects. In 2006 he was appointed Director,
Corporate Development, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. In 2008
he was appointed Vice President, Head of Wärtsilä Development &
Financial Services, the customer financing and development arm of
Wärtsilä Corporation.
