                                 BOARD CHANGE


Walker, Crips, Weddle, Beck plc ('WCWB'), the fully listed stock and share
broker, announces that, with effect from 1 August 2001, Mr Raymond Field has
retired as a director of WCWB, although he will remain with the company as a
Consultant Associate.

Mr Field has been a director of WCWB since 1988 and the Board would like to
take this opportunity to thank him for his considerable contribution to the
development of WCWB.
