                          Proposed Dividend Timetable

Further to the announcement of preliminary results for the year to 30 November
2003 released earlier today, W. H. Ireland is please to announce the timetable
for the proposed payment of the final dividend of 0.75p. In addition W.H.
Ireland will be once again offering shareholders a scrip dividend alternative in
respect of the final dividend.

Expected Timetable of Events

Shares quoted 'ex dividend'                                            7 April
Record date                                                           13 April
Posting of circular and forms of election to receive scrip dividend   20 April
Final date for receipt of forms of election                             12 May
Payment date                                                            28 May

It is anticipated that further details of the scrip dividend alternative will be
sent to shareholders in line with the timetable set out above.
