                W.H. Ireland Group plc ('WHI' or the 'Company')

                              Further Share Issue


WHI is pleased to announce that on 5 January 2004 it issued 38,350 new ordinary
shares of 5p each in the Company ('New Shares') fully paid at 50 pence per share
to certain recent employees of the Company. Application has been made for
admission of the New Shares to AIM and dealings are expected to commence on 9
January 2004. This issue and the recent appointments form part of WHI's
continued expansion of its Birmingham and London offices.
