AGM Statement

At the Annual General Meeting of Vp plc held at 10.00 a.m. in Harrogate on
Tuesday 10th September, the Chairman, Mr. J.F.G. Pilkington, made the following
statement :


'In my Chairman's Statement for the year ended 31 March 2002 I commented that
the Group's businesses enjoy strong market positions and are capable of
achieving acceptable levels of growth and return on capital and that this
enables us to view the future with confidence.


As such, I am very pleased to be able to report that the current financial year
has started satisfactorily and that we anticipate continued progress in the
remainder of the year'


Vp will be announcing its interim results for the six months ended 30 September
2002 on Thursday 21 November 2002.
