Evan Newmark to be Chief Executive of '50/50'

Vodafone AirTouch PLC 1 March 2000 APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE FOR MULTI ACCESS PORTAL Vodafone AirTouch and Vivendi announce the appointment of Evan M Newmark, with effect from 2 March 2000, as Chief Executive of their new 50/50 internet company which will develop and operate a branded Multi Access Portal in Europe. Evan Newmark was previously Managing Director, Goldman Sachs International, London and responsible for its global wireless advisory business. In this capacity he has been increasingly focused on the development of wireless internet strategies as well as having worked closely with Vodafone on the merger with AirTouch Communications, Inc. and the joint venture with Bell Atlantic.
