In accordance with Section 329 of the Companies Act 1985, I have to inform you
that today the Company has been advised by The Share Centre, administrators of
personal equity plans for the Company, that on 6 October 1999, through
reinvestment of dividends, Mr K J Hydon, a director of the Company, acquired
82 ordinary shares of US$0.10 each at a price of 278p per share and Mr J M
Horn-Smith, a director of the Company, acquired 4 ordinary shares at 278p per
share.
