In accordance with Section 329 of the Companies Act 1985, I have to inform you
that on 7 June 2001 Lord MacLaurin of Knebworth, Non-Executive Chairman of the
Company, purchased 17,000 ordinary shares of US$0.10 each in the Company at
the price of 177p per share, increasing his total interest to 79,100 shares.
