Henning Schulte-Noelle, Chairman of the Board of Management of Allianz AG, has resigned as a non-executive director of Vodafone. Dr. Schulte-Noelle, who joined the Vodafone Board in May 2000 shortly after the completion of Vodafone's acquisition of Mannesmann AG, where he was a member of the Supervisory Board from 1994 to 2000, will have to take over additional responsibilities following the merger between Allianz and Dresdner Bank and, as a result, has reluctantly concluded that he will have insufficient time to devote to his directorship of Vodafone.
