VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Limited announces investment into Thai Hoa Hospital

VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Limited ("VOF" or "the Company"), an AIM-traded investment company established to target key growth segments in Vietnam, announces today that it has invested USD9.0 million in a management buyout transaction to acquire a controlling stake in Thai Hoa International Hospital ("Thai Hoa"), a leading healthcare provider located south of Ho Chi Minh City.

Thai Hoa is a general hospital established in 2008, with a goal to provide premium healthcare and top of the line hospital facilities in the Mekong Delta region. Currently, Thai Hoa has 200 beds, with the ability to scale up to 300 beds in the same location, employs 30 doctors, and is capable of treating over 300,000 patient visits per year. Management expects that the number of visits will increase significantly through 2016 and 2017 due to the government's Private Partnership Program between public and private hospitals and the loosening of National Health Insurance regulations that will take effect in the second half of this year.

VOF is fortunate to have Dr. Luong Ngoc An stay on board as the CEO to help lead Thai Hoa through the next stage of growth. Dr. An previously spent more than 20 years at Ho Chi Minh City's Tu Du Hospital, the largest hospital of Obstetrics and Paediatrics in Vietnam. During his time at Tu Du, he led the team that successfully pioneered the In Vitro Fertilization technique in Vietnam.
