                         Appointment of Chief Executive

Vitec Group today announces the appointment of Philip Cushing as Chief
Executive, effective 28 April 2000.

Mr Cushing was formerly Chief Executive of Inchcape PLC, the international
distribution company.  He left the company in July 1999, having delivered
significant shareholder value by refocusing the company.

Prior to joining Inchcape Mr Cushing was Chief Executive, International, of
Norton Opax PLC.

Mr Cushing is currently non executive director of Ikon Office Solutions Inc.

Commenting on Mr Cushing's appointment, Alison Carnwath, Chairman of Vitec
Group said:

     'I am looking forward to Philip joining Vitec, as he brings with him
     a wealth of commercial, industrial and international experience.  He
     has a long history of managing companies for growth and a proven
     track record in creating shareholder value.'

Mr Cushing succeeds Malcolm Baggott who announced his intention to retire on
21 January 2000, after ten years as Chief Executive.
